It’s official! I graduated high school at 16 years old! Last week I had my last test I had to make to graduate. Looking back at my high school years, there are a couple of things I wished I could do different. I listed my most important things I wished I knew before going to high school.
- People change. You change, your friends change. I feel like high school is the time where you discover who you truly are and who you want to become. Most of the time, that involves with changing. Your clothing style, your hair but also how you act. And that’s totally okay.
- Hard work pays off. Working hard in high school is very important. High school is an important time for you college/ university decision. Keeping up with you homework, studying and paying attention in class is crucial.
- Having a boyfriend is not the most important thing. I think everyone goes trough a stage where they are just boy-crazy. And it seems like you need or want a boyfriend. I did too. But at the end of the day, you are stuck with yourself.
- Make time for yourself. I didn’t make enough time for myself in high school. And it showed. My mental health was not the best. In my senior year I had a lot of self care days and I was feeling much better. Making time for yourself and your mental health is not egoistic.
What did you learn in high school? Which grade are you in?
Next year is going to be my last year of high school and I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. People change so much and sometimes the friends you made your first day of HS are no longer you friends by your last year
Also wow, you graduated at 16!. Do you know where you want to go for University?

So I’m soon to graduate this year. And I totally agree with you said especially the fact of people changing. During high school I learnt that people change like the weather. I also wished I spent more time on myself and mental health especially. I feel like I’ve wasted my high school years worrying over nothing. Thanks for sharing hun❤️
